NOTICE: TRANSFERRING THE amavis-user MAILING LIST By: Mark Martinec ANNOUNCEMENT Members of the mailing list amavis-user @ SF, please
read! The last week's one day outage of the amavis-user mailing list
at the SourceForge reminded me that there were similar events in the
past, but more importantly that I dislike…

MIMEHEADER - Amavisd-new erorrs By: kibirango moses Hullo Amavisd-Users When I send email I get a “Passed Bad
header” in my logs . I have configured amavisd such that all
incoming emails with bad header are passed without checking for spam.
I want them to pass but I also want them to be checked…

amavisd-nanny question By: Ralf Hildebrandt I've seen that amavisd-nanny will kill children that are lingering
around and not reporting back to the DB. Is running amavisd-nanny -c
1 >/dev/null from cron every hour (or so) sufficient to ensure
that?

bad-header By: polloxx Dear, We're using amavisd-new 2.6.4 on Debian Squeeze to call a mail
filter. Although $final_bad_header_destiny is set to D_PASS mail with
bad headers is still quarantined. In a previous version 2.4.2 we used
the setting…

Better default for $localhost_name? By: Patrick Ben Koetter Shouldn't $localhost_name be a (RFC compliant) FQDN hostname like
'localhost.localdomain' by default? Currently it defaults to
'localhost', which IIRC is not a FQDN. I'm asking because the
non-FQDN $localhost_name makes Postfix reject amavis when…

What does SMTP DATA in TIMING refer to? By: Patrick Ben Koetter I'm trying to locate a bottleneck in a mailsystem. The TIMING in
amavis logging shows that amavis spends most time with "SMTP DATA":
Mar 2 08:37:20 mail amavis[12218]: (12218-03) TIMING [total 4034 ms]
- SMTP greeting: 0 (0%)0, SMTP EHLO: 0…

DKIM signing By: Matthias Hanke I work for a university institute and administrate its servers

configuration (sendmail 8.13.1 with amavisd-new-2.6.4). Recently I
got amavis to verify DKIM signed mails. Now…

Amavisd logging question By: Bill Landry Hi List, I have been noticing for quite some time that amavisd-new
logs test results messages to the maillog differently at time. For
example: Feb 27 14:22:06 mail amavis[27931]: (27931-08) Passed CLEAN
Feb 27 14:22:56 mail ch4-03611-04)[3611]:…

How does amavis calculate %y time in log messages? By: Patrick Ben Koetter I've run into a problem where amavis seems to take ages to scan
messages - at least the time it logs make me think so. OTOH the
system I run is mindblowing fast and I just can't believe it would
take amavis long run accept, scan and resend a…

Per user prefs By: Kiss Gabor (Bitman) Hi folks, I've a question about user preferences. What if a mail has
